Our Evolution
The Citizens Projects began as a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of ORBITNEWS- A Media and Strategic Communication firm, located in the heart of the Federal capital territory, Abuja. Over time, it has transformed into a comprehensive national development and media advocacy organization. This evolution reflects our commitment to not only observe governance but to actively engage in shaping Nigeria’s developmental narrative.

Our Core Functions

Geo-Political Structure of The Citizens Projects
Local Government Chapters (LGAs)
Operating at the grassroots level, these chapters initiate and implement community-specific programs, ensuring local voices are integral to national discussions. Activities include organizing Citizen Assemblies for residents to prioritize projects and training volunteers to monitor project execution.
Regional Hubs
Representing Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones—North-West, North-East, North-Central, South-West, South-East, and South-South—these hubs integrate regional perspectives into national initiatives. They promote interstate collaborations on projects like agribusiness partnerships and initiate cultural integration programs.
State Chapters
Serving as coordination hubs, State Chapters synchronize initiatives across Local Government Chapters within their jurisdiction, aligning local efforts with national objectives. They establish Advocacy Teams to lobby for policy changes at state assemblies and publish annual state-specific performance reports.
National Leadership
Providing strategic direction, the National Leadership formulates policies and spearheads nationwide campaigns. They manage a Policy Advisory Unit comprising esteemed ex-governors, academics, and technocrats, and oversee international partnerships with entities like the African Union (AU) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
